Remember a few months back when we reported on an upcoming food hall revamp in Irvine?

At the time, it was believed that the old Palm Cafe Food Court/new TRADE Marketplace could have been open by March. But now, as we’re heading into July, it’s still not open. What’s going on?

According to a various contacts tied to the project, the hall should be open in August or September. So far, here are the confirmed vendors at the marketplace.

Ootoro Sushi — sushi, has a location in Walnut, Calif.
KRISP Fresh Living –acai bowls, smoothies and teas, has a location in Newport Beach.
Gyro King — Mediterranean food, previously occupied the space when it was Palm Cafe Food Court.
Butterleaf — a “vegetable diner” from Andrew Gruel of Slapfish fame
Two Birds — a grilled/fried chicken restaurant from Andrew Gruel of Slapfish fame
The Sandwich Society — a sandwich spot, has a location in Santa Ana
Dos Chinos — Vietnamese Mexican fusion from chef Hop Phan, has a food truck and location in Santa Ana
Megadon — fusion of Latin, Asian, Mexican and Hawaiian cuisines from Hop Phan of Dos Chinos fame
Unknown dessert spot — brought to you from the minds behind GD Bro Burger
